Adeola Olumeyan
Adeola is the Assistant General Counsel and Company Secretary. She also heads the Legal and Compliance department.
She manages the legal affairs of the Company and provides strategic legal advice on legal and compliance matters. Adeola is primarily responsible for company secretarial matters, corporate governance, regulatory and corporate filings, brand management, contract and commercial management including risk analysis/assessment/advice; due diligence, litigation and case management; policy drafting and developing legal Agreements for the various business relationships the Company may be involved in. She also trains and organizes trainings for Staff on legal and compliance matters. She ensures the Company is kept abreast of all relevant legislations (including draft Bills) that may affect the Company.
Her formal working career encompasses a comprehensive background and extensive experience in corporate and commercial law practice, corporate governance, compliance, legal and risk analysis/assessment, litigation, intellectual and real property; public speaking.
In view of her experience, Adeola has become quite adept at strategy, negotiating, development of policies, implementation of processes and training.
Prior to joining the Channels TV team, she successfully managed the portfolios of, and rendered legal advisory services to many Fortune 500 Companies. She has spoken and written both internationally and locally on trademark practice in Nigeria and has served in various leadership capacities of the International Trademark Association (INTA), where she was the first Nigerian to hold the position of Subcommittee Chair of the Association’s Legislation and Regulation Committee (LRC) for the Middle East, South Asia and Africa regions. She was also the sole Nigerian contributor to the World Trademark Report and the only African who was part of the international Project team that planned and organized the 2008 INTA Trademarks Administrators Meeting (Arlington, Virginia USA).
Adeola is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria and a Notary Public. She obtained her LLB from the Lagos State University and has an MBA from the Lagos Business School. She is also an alumni of the Nanyang Business School, Singapore; a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN), Nigerian International Franchise Association (NIFA), and the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA). She is certified by ICSAN as a board/corporate governance auditor and trainer.
She enjoys problem solving, literature and music. In her leisure, she swims and visits orphanages.
