Ogun State Gives Its Border Communities A Sense of Belonging

In line with the Ogun state government’s Rural and Infrastructure Development programme which is aimed at spreading development across the state and establishing symbiotic relationship between the people and government. According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu.

The state government has commenced the rehabilitation of roads in the border towns so as to give the people living within that area of Ogun state a sense of belonging and provide motorable roads for them.

Some of the roads being taken care of in the first phase of the rehabilitation project are in Ibafo Mowe, Aseese, Ibafo, Magada Onimale and Isefu while roads in Ojodu, Akute and Agbado areas would be taken care of in the second phase of the rehabilitation project.

Speaking about the rehabilitation project, the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arc. Olamilekan Adegbite said the situation is a give and take one where Ogun State Government wants the people living in border towns to realise that they are bonafide residents of the state and that they have obligations to the state.

Adegbite added that the state government cares for the people and that is why it is bent on providing basic social amenities and making life comfortable for them.

On the extent of rehabilitation works being carried out, the Commissioner disclosed that graders were being used to level and make the roads motorable where the roads had not been tarred before while palliative measures are carried out on those already with asphalt.

The rehabilitation project is handled by engineers of the Direct Labour Unit of Ministry of Works & Infrastructure who had proved their competence in providing high quality service in road maintenance across the state.
