Jean Tigana; former France International will now be moving to the Chinsese side; Shanghai Shenhua as he becomes the no.1 man in the club signing a 1-year contract as a coach.

Tigana; 56; a former coach of the English clubside; Fulham agreed to a 1-year contract with the Chinese Super League club who signed Chelsea top player; Nicolas Anelka who also strikes for the French National Team.

Tigana who helped France win the 1984 European Championship sat down with the Chinese club’s director Zhou Jun and formally sealed the deal.

Fellow Frenchman Anelka’s contract was reported to be worth in the region of $300,000 per week for two years.

Tigana refused to disclose his new salary and stressed that he did not move to China for the money.

According to Tigana, he said he could have moved to either Englan or Turkey but he was looking to have new challenges and he is so priviledged to be the one in charge of the Chinese club.

Tigana praised his future colleague Anelka, but refused to respond to rumours that the former Real Madrid midfielder Guti would also follow their footsteps to China.
