After a gun battle with men of the Delta state Anti Kidnapping Task Force of Delta Waterways Security Committee (DWSC), two bandits have been confirmed dead in Warri, Delta state.

A couple and their sales girl were shot dead after their shop was attacked by a gang of robbers at Ogbe-Ijoh market in Warri. The shop owners refused to submit their valuables to the gang and that action resulted to their death.

The police attached to the anti-kidnapping task force, however, intercepted an armed robbery gang that were said to have been unleashing terror on the residents of the area while on patrol.

The police engaged them in a gun battle, which resulted in the death of two of the robbers.

Other gang members escaped after noticing the superiority of the arms in the possession of the police, leaving behind three locally made pistols with three live cartridges.

A police source who confirmed the report said the corpses of the deceased robbers were deposited at the Central Hospital, Warri.
