The Police Command in Kano State, Nigeria’s North-West Region says four suspected Boko Haram Members have being killed and 14 others arrested in connection with attacks that are now generating tension in the state.

One of those arrested is Muhammed “Hamza” Aliyu, said to be a leader of the sect.

He was held as he tried to flee the city following an exchange of fire outside his residence.

Security agencies in Kano had in the past few days come under a series of attacks from gunmen suspected to members of the dreaded Boko Haram Islamic Sect, which seem to have finally unveiled its presence in the ancient city of Kano.

The Sect launched a series of attacks on Security Officers and formations over the weekend, killing three Nigerian Air Force Officers on Thursday night four Policemen within a space of 48 hours.

The latest attack involved three Police Officers, who were killed by gun men suspected to be Boko Haram Members at Darmanawa Quarters at Ungwa Uku in Kano metropolis.
