Addressing journalists in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory, Chairman of the Commission Dr. Sam Amadi says the increase in tariffs will be announced next month and that some consumers may get as low as a one naira fifty kobo increase.
Tariff reviews have been going on for the past six months and it has now reached the final stages of consultations.
Doctor Amadi says the review of electricity tariffs became necessary to improve the sector; in the light of the on-going privatization exercise which is expected to be concluded in April next year and new owners will be taking over by September of the same year.
