"Occupy Nigeria" Protest in London; Nigerians in the Diaspora Set to Protest

The president of the Student Association of Nigeria in Diaspora, SAND, Olalekan Oshunkoya made this known in a press release.

Nigerian youths, as well as other professionals received approval for a sit-in peaceful protest at the Nigerian House in London from the MET Police on Wednesday.

The peaceful protest is coordinated by SAND and Nigeria Youth League UK. Reacting to the reason for the protest, the President of SAND, Mr. Oshunkoya said the fuel subsidy is the only life line that Nigerian people have, the only welfare packages that connects the Nigerian people with the government, and removing the last support base is unacceptable, cruel and devastating to Nigerians who gave them the mandate to serve them.

The protest is due to take place on 6 January 2012 at the Nigerian House, 9 Northumberland Street, London.
