Efforts by the Senate President Senator David Mark to end the ongoing indefinite strike by organised labour was not successful as the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC )insisted that they would call off the strike only after government reverts back to the former price of petrol at 65 Naira per litre.

Organised labour Tuesday night met with senate president, deputy senate president, the secretary to the government of the federation and the minister of labour.

After the meeting, NLC president Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar told journalists that although progress had been made during discussions with government, matters have not been resolved.

Speaking on the no work no pay threat by the federal government, NLC president said the threat is not new to workers.
