NPL To Announce League Resumption Date-Baribote

Nigeria Premier League (NPL) officials will soon announce the resumption date for the league later today (Monday 16, 2011).

The season was temporarily suspended following the industrial action by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) as a result of the removal of subsidy from petroleum products.


With the NLC suspending the strike action on Monday, the NPL is now set to reach a decision on a new resumption date for the league.

“We have gone into consultations with the clubs and other stakeholders of the league in that regard. In the next few hours, we will come to an agreement (on a new resumption date for the league). “But I can assure you that by the end of (Monday) we would have arrived at a decision on when the season would restart,” NPL Chairman, Baribote Victor Rumson told
