According to the ‘Nothing compares 2 you’ hitmaker she said she would be out of circulation for several weeks while she is being treated for depression as she admitted taking an overdose of pills.

Her short-lived marriage of a few weeks to Barry Herridge made her attempt suicide twice and this time making it the third and that led to her seeking the help of a psychiatrist.

O’Connor reassured her fans that there is nothing to worry about for she will be back in one piece that is being herself again.

Born 8 December 1966,O’Connor achieved worldwide success in 1990 with a cover of the song “Nothing Compares 2 U”.

While maintaining her singing career, she has occasionally encountered controversies, partly due to her statements and gestures such as her ordination as a priest despite being a female with a Roman Catholic background and her strong views on organized religion, women’s rights, war, and child abuse.

In addition to her nine solo albums her work includes many singles, songs for films, collaborations with many other artists, and appearances at charity fundraising concerts.
