Vice President Sambo was speaking after a meeting he held overnight with the nineteen northern governors in the presidential villa.

Also in attendance were the Minister of Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade, the Minister of Defence, Haliru Mohammed Bello and a representative of the National Security Adviser.

At the meeting which lasted for about five hours from 10pm to 2am, the vice president urged the northern leaders and all the state governors to do everything to ensure that there is peace in the country.

In his response, the Chairman of the northern governors’ forum, Aliyu Babangida Muazu called on Nigerians to resist any attempt by anybody to make them run away from their residential areas, describing the activities of the terrorists as an attempt to create panic.

He denied the allegation that some governors were sponsoring the attacks.
