Universities In Lagos bubble again

Life has gradually returned to the universities in Lagos state, southwest Nigeria, following the suspension of the 58-day-old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities.

Universities In Lagos bubble again

Channels Television correspondent visited the University of Lagos, Akoka and the Lagos state university campus, and reports that although lectures is yet to commence, both branches of the union have complied with the directive of the national body to resume work today and make arrangements to re-align the academic timetable.

The chairman of ASUU, University of Lagos branch, Dr Karo Ogbinaka and his counterpart at the Lagos state university, Dr Jamiu Oluwatoki, said the suspension of the strike will allow the federal government to implement the agreements reached during the negotiations.

Meanwhile, some students who were on campus have expressed excitement at being back for academic activities.
