The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole

The Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole on Thursday accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of planning to rig the forth coming gubernatorial election in the state.

Mr Oshiomhole who made the accusations at the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) state executive meeting in Benin City, the Edo state capital, said the PDP had perfected plans to doctor the electoral registers by engaging fake Youth Corps members and as well print fake voters card abroad for the purpose of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The governor who expressed confidence in the ability of the ACN to win the coming election said he was confident that the effort of the PDP to once more take the ACN back to the courts to retrieve its mandate will fail.

Reacting to the governor’s accusation, the Edo state Chairman of the PDP, Dan Orbih described the statement of the governor as an indictment on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which has been adjudged to have conducted free and fair elections across the country.

Mr Oshiomhole acknowledged the ecomiums from the leaders of his party, the ACN over his developmental projects and urged them to be cautious over alleged plans by the PDP leaders to rig the forth coming polls.
