Pop singer Stefani Germanotta popularly called Lady Gaga on Wednesday launched the “Born this way” foundation at the Harvard University.

A youth empowerment set up to address issues like lack of self- confidence, anti-bullying and well-being.

Gaga was accompanied by her mum Cynthia Germanotta and some of her friends including Oprah Winfrey. The foundation was named after her 2011 hit album “Born this way”
Cynthia Germanotta, Gaga’s mother will serve as president of the foundation.

“I believe that human kind as a whole, can change the world,” said Gaga, who was dressed in a  long backless dress,with black hat and  gloves  to Harvard for what she termed “one of the best days of my life.”

“The goal is to challenge meanness and cruelty by inspiring young people to create a support system in their respective communities,” she said.

While addressing the students and panel of Harvard she stated that her foundation is to promote safety, skills and opportunities .
She further stated that the foundation is to reach out to gays and lesbians .

That’s why the “Born this way has quickly become the unofficial anthem for gay empowerment and pride.
