Diplomatic tension between Nigeria and South Africa appear to have heightened with Nigeria denying 28 South Africans entry into the country on Monday.
The South Africans arrived Nigeria through Murtala Muhammed International Airport on South African Airways and were reportedly sent home due to “improper documentation of yellow fever cards,” airport sources said.
Nigeria has formally lodged a formal complaint to the South African government over the deportation of 125 Nigerians from South Africa on Thursday for not having genuine vaccination documentation.
The minister assured Nigerians that the FG will not take the harsh treatment of Nigerians by South Africa “lying low”.
He described South Africa’s action as falling short of standard diplomatic practices.
