The Chairman of the Bayelsa Elders Council, Retired Colonel Samuel Inokoba, has emerged as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa state.

This was announced on Saturday by the electoral committee Chairman, Ini Okori, at the end of the state congress of the party.

The new chairman, in his acceptance speech, says his leadership will reconcile all aggrieved members as he will run an administration that will accommodate everyone.

Meanwhile, 456 ballots were casted at the congress. President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Seriake Dickson were among the delegates that voted at the congress which took place at The Isaac Boro Square Area of the Peace park in Yenogoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

Delegates also voted for the party’s executives that will fill the 29 positions declared vacant by the electoral committee.
