Hannibal Gaddafi, the fourth son of the late leader Muammar Gaddafi, had been the proud owner of a luxury 18-deck ship complete with its very own shark tank.

According to reports, the 36-year-old Hannibal, who fled Libya for Algeria when rebel forces stormed the nation’s capital of Tripoli, was said to have housed six pet sharks on his swanky sea vessel.

The Daily Mail reported that Hannibal had ordered the 300 million pound vessel to entertain guests, but work was never finished on the vessel due to the war in Libya.

The dictator’s son had in his arsenal, two sand tiger sharks, two white sharks and two blacktip reef sharks. The vessel, which he had hoped to name Phoenicia, as a tribute to ancient civilisation that once ruled North Africa, would have had marble columns, statues, luxury fittings and gold-framed mirrors.

Hannibal’s luxury ship would also have boasted on marble floors, panoramic glass lifts and virtual waterfalls and glass walkways over the pet shark aquarium.

Hannibal, who had controlled Libya’s maritime industry and ports during his slain father’s rule, fled Libya alongside his mother and sister, taking refuge in neighbouring Algeria at the height of the civil war in August last year.

According to reports, Hannibal’s Phoenicia has now been completed, and while Gaddafi’s son may not be able to cruise the high seas on it, the ship has now been sold to a luxury cruise operator.
