Mercy on Saturday night emerged the winner of Nigerian Idol 2012.

Mercy (a.k.a. Chinwo Nnenda) beat Joe Blue in the second edition of the popular Nigerian television show Nigerian Idol.

The pre-event started with a red carpet, after which the 12 contestants opened the show with a reversed standard of the National Anthem.

Nigerian’s r&b singer Chuddy k came to wet the ground with his stage performance leaving the audience to expect more.
In the highlight of the events: the executives of Etisalat presented gifts to 12 contestants.

Thrilling the audience was control master himself W4, in the course of the event the 10 contestants that were evicted performed the Black Eye Peas anthem “I’ve got the feeling”

The audience got excited when the EME singer Wizkid performed his popular “I love my baby” in a different style using a live band, he dazzled the audience with his great performance.

During the show they reflected on how it all started, the auditions and the memory night.

Firstly was the Whitney Houston night which Tiwa Savage and Yinka Davids performed a duet from one of her albums “I believe children are our Future”

Not forgetting Fela Kuti’s memory night when Mercy killed it one of Fela’s ppular tracks “Zombi”

Joe and Mercy performed the popular high-life by Mandy Brown Ojubana “Taxi Driver”

Season one winner Yeka Onka performed one of her written single but to the disappointment of many.

The battle was between Joe and Mercy. Mercy performed first nailing Fela’s Zombie track, Joe blue came with a re-enforcement killing Infinities “Olori Oko”

Who wins the battle? After 6 months of being in the house and voting the winner was announced “Mercy Chinwo” won the contest.

By emerging winner, Mercy will be walking away with the top prize of a recording contract, an SUV and a cash of prize of about $100,000.
