The State Security Services (SSS) in Edo state has rescued a six year old girl who was abducted and held in captivity for 13 days from her captors.
The SSS also apprehended two suspects allegedly involved in her abduction and recovered the sum of N700,000 paid as ransom to the kidnappers and a red AUDI 80 car.
One of the suspects who gave his name as Glory Davies said the kidnapper and his friends had brought the girl to his house and threatened to kill her and her family if she does not cooperate with them.
He said he was then asked to go and collect the money for the ransom with a promise that they will assist his business from the share.
The State Director of the SSS in Edo state, Mr Bello Bakori who paraded the suspects before journalists said the SSS were informed of the abduction seven days after the kidnap.
He appealed for more cooperation from members of the public in kidnap cases as the agencies has recorded 99 percent success in this regard.
He warned against ignoring the security agencies and the payment of ransom as this opens the way for further blackmail by kidnappers.
