A non-governmental organization, Action aid Nigeria has asked the federal government to fully implement the laid down policies to guarantee the free and compulsory education of children at their all levels.

At a forum to kick off the annual global action week, the head of policy campaign and communication of the organization, Mrs Azuka Menkiti noted that 8 percent of education budget at all levels of government should be allocated to Early Child Care Development (ECCD) in the country.

Mrs Azuka mentioned amongst others that the rights of children include access to adequate teachers with special training for pre-school education as it is done in advanced countries.

Members of the group blamed the increasing failure of students at national and international examinations on the negligence of pre-school education which prepares a child for proper formal education.
