Chelsea the only English club that remained till the final of the Champions league will be glad this season will end well for them even though they are not in strong contention for the EPL title which the Blues grip of at the beginning of the season.
Even at that there is still so much to struggle for as they will be fighting to notch into the top four position of the English Premier League in order to be listed for next season Champions League competition and with two games left to end the league, Chelsea occupying the sixth position behind Tottenham, Newcastle, Arsenal, Manchester United and of course Manchester City who seized the number one position on Monday with 1-0 win over the Red Devils Manchester united.
This will not be easy as Chelsea’s second to last game will be against Newcastle tonight and interim coach for Chelsea Roberto Di Matteo has vowed that Chelsea will be on fire all through the 90 minutes so as to achieve maximum points against Newcastle who are occupying the 5th position.
He is however confident that his squad can achieve the feat he wishes even the team will be in another clash three after the Newcastle clash against Liverpool at Wembley in the FA Cup.
Hosting the Magpies at Stamford Bridge, Di Matteo says he feels the match is the one that is more important to him than that of the FA Cup for it determines if Chelsea will be in the Next season’s Champions League Competition.
He further said he i not even thinking of the game against Liverpool for now as his priority is on today’s game against Newcastle then after that he can think and pick a team for the clash against Liverpool.
