Gary Neville; the former Manchester United defender has been appointed coach by England Manager Roy Hodgson and this was confirmed by the Football Association today.

The former defender who signed a four year deal with the association will be joining his country squad for the Europeans championships this summer.

In response to the offer extended to the former England player by Hodgson, Neville said it is an honour for him to be called to serve his national team which he did as a player and will be doing again as coach by Hodgson will remain a special moment in his life.

Neville never hesitated over the acceptance of the role as he said in response that he is relishing the opportunity to work alongside the England manager Roy Hodgson in all tournaments lined up this period.

Hodgson, who took over as England manager earlier this month, said he had no hesitation in calling on Neville as he sees Gary as an achiever in the game of football and he will be respected by players because of his vast experience in the game plus he has obtained UEFA coaching certificates so as to go further in the game.
