Popular musician and entertainer D’banj has revealed his plan to set up his own record label.

During a recent visit to Ghana, D’banj in an interview gave details of  his upcoming record label and how he intends to change Africa’s music industry.

“My new record label is being structured,” D’banj said and he refused to give out more details on the label.

“What I have right now and I can tell you is that my new record label has worldwide distribution with Universal Music Group” he hinted.

He described his new label as a movement, adding that he is bringing Def Jam Universal Music Group to Africa so that it can be structured.

“For me it’s not about the record label, it’s about the success story of the whole movement. It is about bringing the structure that has made music what music is in global world and bringing it to Africa” he added.

D’banj, a former member and co-owner of Mo Hits record, recently signed on to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music Record label and he is trying to make a formidable impact in Africa’s music.
