Elder statesman and Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark has urged the 19 governors of the northern states in the country to go into their communities and identify the youth and groups that have caused the recent security impasse in the region so that their differences can be resolved.

At a forum to mark the first year in office of President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Clark said resolving the security issue, now a major concern for all Nigerians, will be a lot easier if the governors play a major committed role.

He explained that just as the militancy issue in the Niger Delta was resolved by the leaders mediating to ensure the differences were resolved, the governors can do same for sanity to return to the country

Other issues that also formed the discuss for the day were nationhood, unity and peaceful coexistence. Many of the leaders agreed that Nigeria has come too far together to segregate or disintegrate now.

An attempt was also made to look at the journey so far with just one year in office of president Goodluck Jonathan and the leaders who seemed impressed, expressed confidence that much more will be achieved as the years go by.
