The National Universities Commission (NUC) on Monday in Abuja said it lost five of its principal officers in the Dana plane crash that occurred in Lagos on Sunday.
This is contained in a statement issued by the management of the commission in Abuja.
In the statement, the NUC said the officials were travelling for an official assignment to Lagos.
They are Celestine Onwuliri, the Chairman, Standing Committee on Private Universities, Mahmud Dukawa , Deputy Director, Treasury; Maimuna Shuaibu, Deputy Director, Open Distance Education; Sonny Ehioghae, Deputy Director (Establishment & Staff Matters) and Chinwe Obi, Deputy Director, Facilities and Infrastructure.
The late Onwuliri is the husband of Viola Onwuliri, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
