Disturbed by the protracted security challenges confronting the North, the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) has fixed an emergency meeting of the regional body for Thursday 26 July.

The Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Muazu Aliyu in a statement said that Northern Governors were determined to put an end to the cycle of violence that has led to the loss of many lives and properties in the region.

The statement added that the meeting which is scheduled to hold in Abuja will come up with recommendations that will help return normalcy to the region.

Secretaries to the Governments of the 19 Northern States are expected to accompany their principals to the meeting.
