A minor earthquake struck on Tuesday night near Yorba Linda rattling the Los Angeles area, the earthquake was followed by a magnitude of 2.7 aftershock about a minute later.

Yorba Linda is located in Orange County, and sits just under 40 miles away from the Los Angeles area. The initial earthquake occurred at a depth of 5 miles.

Reports have it that there were no injuries or causalities sustained.

The aftershocks have since died down, with a magnitude ranging from  1.2 to 1.4 following the magnitude of 2.7.

Reports also have it that the previous day an earthquake of similar strength–magnitude 4.5–struck about 15 miles south west of Coalinga in central California. No damage was reported from the earthquake.
