
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Adenrele Shinaba said over 60 stolen vehicles have been recovered between April and July, 2012.
Mr. Shinaba said the command deployed officers to strategic junctions within the Federal Capital Territory to conduct a stop-and-search on vehicles.
He added that patrol vehicles are always on ground at strategic locations.
Shinaba also paraded suspects arrested by the Command for crimes ranging from car snatching, unlawful possession of arms, kidnapping, vandalism and armed robbery.
The command also recovered arms and ammunition as well as dangerous weapons from the suspects.
He promised that the command will not relent in its effort to rid the nation’s capital of crime and criminality.
The command says it is ever ready to secure the nation’s capital from crimes and promised prompt action for all distress calls.
