The Niger state police Command has assured that it is battle ready to ensure the protection of lives and property of its citizens throughout the forth coming Eid –El Fitr and Durbar celebrations which marks the end of the 30 days Ramadan fasting.
In a statement signed by the state Commissioner of Police, Mrs Desire Nsiri, the commissioner noted that the Command is fully prepared for a robust surveillance of the nooks and crannies of the state as well as the covert surveillance of all the places of worship including other important public and private institutions during the Sallah celebrations.
Also, the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, has urged residents to report any suspicious person or movement during the celebration to the force for immediate intervention.
In a statement signed by the spokesperson of the JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, the force called for the cooperation of the people toward achieving the desired peace during and after the celebration.
