The Commissioner of Police Edo state, Mr Olayinka Balogun has denied reports that there was a bomb blast at the Oko Minimum Prison in Benin City which led to the prison break, over the weekend.
Mr Balogun disclosed this at a media briefing on Monday where he tagged the bomb blast report as false. He said the prisoners escaped through a burrow in the wall of the prison.
The Police Commissioner however said he is still awaiting a brief by the authorities of Oko prison.
