Three persons were killed by unknown gunmen Monday night at Tafawa Balewa local government area of Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.
According to the Bauchi State Police Command’s public relations officer, Hassan Mohammed Auyo, the attackers shot at two commercial vehicles on Zwall Bridge and escaped before the security agents could come to the aid of the victims.
One of those injured during the attack, who was receiving treatments died on Tuesday morning while about eleven others are still receiving treatment at the Tafawa Balewa general hospital with five persons missing.
The police officer says the motive of the attackers is yet to be verified as investigations into the incident has commenced with the police commissioner directing that perpetrators of the attack must be fished out.
Last Thursday, head of Gongo Sabon Layi village, Saki Iliya Marafa Molle was attacked in front of his place and stabbed by marauders that fled when the villagers came to the rescue of their chief, he is receiving treatment for stab wounds on his chest at the hospital.
