Barely one week after unknown gunmen killed two police men in Minna, Niger State, another policeman had been shot dead by yet to be identified gunmen.
An eye witness told Channels Television’s correspondent in Minna that the policeman was killed during a stop and search duty at the front of a popular supermarket along old airport road by gunmen in a moving car.
The occupants of the car on getting to the police check point drove out from the queue and drove straight to the policemen who were in the process of searching a vehicle and shot straight at them, killed one police man while others engage in shot out with the gunmen who flee away.
The Niger state Police Public Relation Officer, Pius Edobo while confirming the death of the policeman during the attack explained that some arrests had been made while investigations is on-going.
