Two officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) were killed by unknown gunmen around Madobi local government round about in Kano State, on Wednesday.
Eye witnesses told Channels Television that a four man team of the FRSC was driving towards Kano city from Madobi local government, when they were attacked by two men on motorcycle leaving two dead and one in critical condition.
The Sector Commander of the road safety commission in Kano, Zaki Alkali, confirmed the incident saying “four of our officers were on routine vehicle check at about 12PM today (Wednesday) in Madobi local government when they were attacked by two people on motorcycle.”
“Two of the officers were killed while one was rushed to the hospital” he added.
This is the first time officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission will undergo an attack in Kano state after the 20th January 2012 attacks.
This attack also came 24 hours after two police officers were killed at a check point in the state that has witnessed a number insurgent attacks on security operatives and state institutions, in the last one year.
