The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has dissolved the executive committee of the Adamawa state chapter and sworn-in a caretaker committee to manage the affairs of the state in the forthcoming local government election.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Oliseh Metuh said that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) had taken the decision due to the repeated disobedience of the state committee, complaints of stakeholder’s in the state as well as INEC’s petition of non-compliance by the committee to the rules governing the conduction of primaries in the local government.

He pointed out that the NWC had earlier given the state committee instructions not to conduct local government primaries without approval adding that such instruction was based on the party’s amended constitution of 2012.

At the swearing-in of the caretaker committee, the Deputy Chairman of the PDP, charged the committee members to deal with party members in fairness, reconciliation without confrontation and not make similar mistakes as the just dissolved state executive committee.
