An early morning blast has occurred at Potiskum town in Yobe state North-East Nigeria.
Eyewitness accounts confirmed to Channels Television that loud sounds were heard in the heart of the town around 6am this morning.
The spokesman of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Lt. Lazarus, who confirmed the blast, said men of the JTF were having a gun battle with suspected terrorists.
The lieutenant also said JTF operatives are in the battle to recover arms and ammunition from the suspected Boko Haram terrorists as well as bring them to book.
He assured that the outcome of the exercise will be made known as soon as it is completed.
