Ondo state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, today, made a broadcast to thank the people of the state for electing him for a second term in office.

In the broadcast made at the Cocoa conference hall of the governor’s office, Akure, the state capital, Dr Mimiko thanked God for the successful conduct of the election and also the people for the prevailing atmosphere of peace and orderliness that guaranteed the outcome of the election.

He noted that he had striven earnestly in the last three years to live by his promise to work for the people at all times adding that their endorsement of him for a second term is their appreciation of his administration’s achievements.

He said: ” Our administration shall continue with the good works of benchmarking life enhancing programmes and projects for the people while your collective empowerment and freedom from the shackles of want and poverty will remain a focus”

He however offered a hand of fellowship to those in opposition to work together in synergy for the state.

He gave credit to President Goodluck Jonathan, the INEC, under its current chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega for ensuring strict compliance with the one man, one vote democratic mantra; and bringing integrity back into the voting process.

Mimiko equally expressed gratitude to the security agencies, media organisations as well as local and international observers for their efforts which made the election a shining example to other states in the country.
