Jonathan commiserates with victims of Hurricane Sandy

President Goodluck Jonathan has conveyed his sympathy to Nigerians and Americans who were affected by the Hurricane Sandy that swept through the eastern coast of the US destroying property worth billions of dollars.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Professor Viola Onwuliri, who has just returned from the US, told state house correspondents that the storm was so severe that Nigerians living in the US now have no shelter of their own following the disaster.

He also noted that President Jonathan has through the embassy staff in the Nigerian consulate in New York extended his kind regards to them.

“The President is full of gratitude to God that no life was lost but many are displaced with many facing the discomfort of staying without electricity” he stated.
