The Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa has commended the governor of Edo state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for transforming and restoring Benin City to its glory days.
The monarch stated this when he paid a royal visit to Comrade Oshiomhole at Government House in Benin City, the state capital on Thursday.
Oba Erediauwa, who is rarely seen in public arrived at the Government House in company of some senior palace chiefs.
He urged the newly sworn in Governor, to continue with his good works.
In his response, Governor Oshiomhole declared that he is “deeply humbled” by the Oba’s visit and said their relationship began from his labour congress days when he was president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).
He also told the Oba of Benin of his plans to reclaim the Benin monumental moat.
The Governor also noted that having been accepted by the number of votes from Bini people, he is ready to do more.
The Oba also congratulated the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere and the Chief of Staff, Patrick Obahiagbon.
