Five persons have been killed after unidentified gunmen carried out multiple attacks in Shokwari Ward of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
The attackers raided two separate compounds in the area where they slaughtered the victims.
Eyewitness accounts say that the incident occurred around 7.30PM, when three men, armed with AK 47 rifles drove into the area in a tricycle known as Keke Napep.
After entering each of the houses, the gunmen ordered the occupants to come out of their rooms, before selecting their targets.
