The Yobe state Government has approved the release of N1.7 billion for the execution of various capital projects in the state.

Briefing newsmen after the council meeting in the Government House Damaturu, the state commissioner of Integrated Rural Development, Alhaji Mohammed Dakasku said the council approved the sum of N190 million for the construction of 720 meters of road at the 200 bed capacity hospital in Damaturu, while approval was also granted for the procurement of drilling rig and its accessories at the cost of N154 million to assist in the drilling of boreholes across the state.

Furthermore, he disclosed that N276 million was also approved for the additional work on the Yobe Investment House in Abuja and the sum of N472 million was approved for the renovation of dilapidated structures at the Government Unity School in Nguru.

The commissioner also disclosed that N425 million  was agreed to be used for the procurement of 50 16 seated buses while N130 million is set aside for the review of the laws of the state.

Shedding more light on the review of the state laws, the state attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Barrister Ahmed Mustapha Goneri says most portions of the state laws are out dated and need the services of several lawyers and law makers to update.
