The remains of late Chief Meni Jonathan, younger brother to the President was laid to rest at Otueke in Bayelsa State, after a short service at St Stephen’s Anglican Church Otueke.

At the service the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan wore black clothing symbolizing the mournful state that they  are in as  a result of the death of late Chief Meni Jonathan.

During the service, the President while delivering his remarks appreciated the efforts of everyone that took time out to sympathize with him and his family.

Immediately after the service, the casket was brought out for prayers, hymns and all the interment rites.

Thereafter the casket was immediately carried by youths of the community to his permanent resting place.

Aside from the sorrowful stares, it was a gathering of who is who in Nigeria as Otueke was filled with Governors, Deputy Governors, Members of the National Assembly, captains of industries and Nollywood stars.
