The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has promised to fast track the process of getting Bendel Breweries to operate in its full capacity.
The governor, who disclosed this when members of the Company’s trade Union paid him a visit at the Edo State government house, said his administration has commenced arrangement with Asset Management Company Of Nigeria (AMCON) to pay N1 billion of the N2 billion owed by past management of Bendel Breweries.
The governor however declined a request by the union for a N500 million non interest loan to run the company saying that he was already pained by committing tax payers money to repay a debt that was entirely avoidable.
He however said they will commence moves to get well known brewers to take over the company.
