Christmas: Theodore Orji grants state pardon to eight prisoners

The Governor of Abia state, Mr Theodore Orji has granted state pardon to eight prisoners in the state, in line with the Christmas celebration for this year’s celebration.

They pardoned prisoners are Ngozi Simon, Ngozi Esina, Okwuonu Eme and Lawrence Egbu.

The others Chibuzo Azuonwe, Sunday Amala, Chidiebere Jacob, and Pius Anizo.

In his goodwill message, the Abia chief executive officer felicitated with Christians across the country as they celebrate Christmas to mark the birth of Jesus Christ.

He stated that the birth of Jesus brought peace, joy and salvation to mankind and urged all Christians to continue to exhibit these virtues of Jesus Christ symbolises and use the period to pray for peace and unity of the nation.

The Governor maintained that prayers can change situations for good and expressed optimistic that the country will soon become the envy of other nations as he called for support for government at all levels.

He assured citizens in the state of their safety during the Christmas and New Year festivities as security agencies have been placed on red alert to forestall any breach of law and order.
