Nigerian ace Joel Obi’s deal with Sunderland has been cut short as Inter Milan insists the players is an important part of its squad.
Obi’s agent says the player is unlikely to leave Inter Milan after confirming Sunderland’s interest in the Nigerian.
The Black Cats have been linked with a January move for the 21-year-old.
The player who rose through ranks of youth football at the Italian club is just returning back to playing form as he just recovered from an injury.
According to the player’s agent; Renzo Contratto “The player is now coming back from a serious injury and I think Inter want to count much on him also considering their need of midfielders,”.
“There was interest from some teams, including Sunderland, but I think the club and the coach Andrea Stramaccioni consider Joel an important player.”
