The Broadcast Organisation of Nigeria (BON) has rejected the offer to pay 8 million Euros to acquire the right to broadcast the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
Chairman of BON, Abubakar Jijiwa said the tournament is already branded and marketing the brand is an uphill task which will not benefit media owners in Nigeria.
Jijiwa however added that the organisation is willing to pay $300,000 for some selected matches such as the opening and closing ceremonies and all matches involving Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
