Suspected militants this morning attacked some Army personnel at Itakpe in Kogi State, North Central Nigeria, killing at least two of the soldiers.
Eye witness say the militants who apparently got information about the movement of the troops, planted explosive devices on the road, which went off as soon as the soldiers got to the scene.
Confirming the incident, the Kogi police command disclosed that the soldiers were on their way to Kaduna, North West Nigeria, from the South when they ran into the ambush.
Adding that investigation is on, to unravel those behind the attack.
