SSS Parades Kidnappers of Sylvanus Nkiru

The State Security Service (SSS) has paraded six suspects who were alleged to have kidnapped Nollywood actress and Special Adviser to the governor of Imo state on Public Affairs, Sylvanus Nkiru.

At a joint news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, the Deputy Director, Public Relations of the Department of State Services, Marilyn Ogar said investigation into the incident by the security forces led to the arrest of the alleged kidnappers.

The alleged kidnappers are: Ndidi Cletus, Stanley Assonna, Aminu Musa, Mohammed Abubakar, Obinna Okwuolisa and Samson Onwuka.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Chief Superintendent of Police, Frank Mbah announced that the police will continue to partner with other security agencies to curb the activities of criminally minded persons.

Ms Sylvanus who was kidnapped along with former Mr Nigeria, Kenneth Okolie, were abducted in December 2012, around Concorde Hotel in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

They were both released days after they were kidnapped.

The kidnappers had initially contacted some friends of Ms Sylvanus demanding a ransom of N100 million but it is not clear if the ransom was paid to secure the release of the actress.
