A police officer sustained injuries during an attack on a divisional police station in Dass local government area of Bauchi State, north east Nigeria as unknown attackers threw improvised explosive device at the police station on Friday night causing panic amongst residents.
Public Relations Officer of Bauchi Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police Hassan Mohammed confirmed the attack in which a police officer was injured while repelling the attackers from gaining entrance into the police station.
The Police Spokesman explained that the attackers did not succeed in destroying the police station as they were not able to steal arms and the injured police officer who is currently receiving treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University teaching hospital, Bauchi also escaped with his weapon.
