Justice Bayo Yusuff in the judgement averred that there were irregularities and described the election as inconclusive thereby ordering for re-run election.
Reacting to the judgement in a statement, the former chairman of the council, Saheed Popoola noted that he has accepted the judgement in good faith but assured that the people of Offa will continue to vote for him anytime and urged the people of the community not to panic but maintain peace always.
The state publicity secretary of Peoples’ Democratic Party, Mas’ud Adebimpe also in a statement noted that the judgement has vindicated the party and that the election was not free and fair.
He expressed the readiness of the party for re-run election.
It would be recalled that the state local government election tribunal had last December nullified the election of the Offa local government council citing irregularities among others and ordered for a rerun election.
The Action Congress of Nigeria then appealed the judgement in which the appellate session of the court today affirmed the judgement of the tribunal.
