The Kwara State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps has smashed a syndicate which specialised in the production of fake number plates for commercial motorcyclists.

The agency also arrested a seventy-two-year old man for allegedly defrauding unemployed graduates under the pretext of assisting them to secure employment.

Parading the two suspects at the command headquarters in Ilorin,the state commandant of the corps, Mallam Yerima Gana said one of the suspects, Akanbi Jimoh, was arrested for stealing a motorcycle and was also found with various fake number plates.

Mr. Jimoh, who equally admitted to being a taxi driver in the capital city of the north central state, was said to be issuing each number plate for the sum of N50,000.

Seventy-two-year-old Hammed Adebayo was arrested at the point where he was collecting a N50,000 and credentials from one of his victims.

The suspect on interrogation claimed to have connection with some top personalities. The agency said the suspects would soon be charged to court.
